Disembarking from the Fisher Island ferry one Sunday afternoon, my partner and I contemplated the rhetorical question: When is season? This led to a long debate on the subject, culminating in one convincing the other (guess who won) that there is no “season” in South Florida. For me, season has always been when the snowbirds come to town—or at least that’s what we’ve assumed for years.
Of course, there’s basketball season, football season, ski resorts have their season, and even lobsters have a season. Granted, some may still choose to visit Miami in winter to escape from the cold weather, but others now arrive in the summer, during the school break. Today, season in South Florida has become a year-round phenomenon. The calendar is filled from January to January with everything from art fairs to fishing tournaments to jazz concerts, without a break in the rhythm. Fortunately, we have the luxury to bask in the delightful weather and blue skies without interruption.
To lose the debate was to gladly gain a new perspective on paradise! Enjoy this issue of Trillionaire Magazine.
